I have been at Longcause School for since September 2010, leading the Lower School since December 2012. Prior to this post I trained solely in the Early Years due to my commitment of working with young children. During this time I became fascinated by the complexities and different ways of working with children with SEN, and particularly Autism. After completing my degree I wished to further advance my skills and chose to complete my Masters of Special Education Needs. This then brought me to Longcause.
My time at Longcause has been a steep learning curve and my role has evolved radically. I have learnt a lot from the school, not only from the supportive and talented colleagues that I work with, but more importantly from the children themselves. I am sure that they have taught me just as much, if not more, than I have them. It is their ever changing different needs and personalities that drives my own practice, and that of the school, to constantly adapt and grow.
In addition to leading the Lower School Phase, I also developed our unique LLfL Curriculum, which I now lead across the whole school. More information on can be found in our curriculum page about this.
If you would like to discuss any thing with me, please do not hesitate to get in contact either directly through email, by contacting the Family Support Team, or the school office and leaving a message. I will endeavour to get back to you as swiftly as possible when I am not in class teaching.
