Longcause Community Special School

Good Morning Families, We hope you have had a lovely summer and we can not wait to welcome back everyone on Monday. Ahead of next week we wanted to update you on a new law for schools. Longcause Community Special School is now a mobilephone, smart watch and devicefree environment, in line with the new national rules for all schools. This applies to everyone on site pupils, families, visitors and staff. To help us keep our school calm, safe and focused, we kindly ask families to support us by ensuring that pupils do not bring mobile phones or personal devices into school. Wherever possible, phones, smart watches and devices should be kept at home. If a pupil must bring a phone, smart watch or device, it must be handed in and stored safely in a lock box with their class teacher for the day. We also ask all visitors to keep phones on silent while on site and avoid using them anywhere pupils are present. If you need to make a call or use your device, please step offsite or speak to staff about using an office space. For safeguarding and privacy reasons, photos or recordings of pupils (other than your own child) or staff are not permitted. Phones and devices should not be used during lessons, transitions or pupil activities. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, respectful and distractionfree environment for our children and young people. A full copy of our mobile phone and device policy is available on our website and from the school office. If you would like to discuss a plan to support your child in adhering to these new rules please contact your child's class teacher.
