School Uniform

At Longcause, we aim to keep our uniform affordable, accessible and comfortable for all our pupils.

Our standard uniform consists of a navy jumper, fleece or cardigan, white or navy polo shirt and black or grey trousers or skirt. Families can purchase these from any retailer, including supermarkets, giving them flexibility to choose clothing that meets their child’s needs and their budget.

We also offer a range of clothing featuring the Longcause school logo, including jumpers, cardigans and other items. Samples are available in school for families to view. Uniform with our logo is entirely optional. There is no expectation for families to purchase it, and plain uniform remains equally welcome.

We understand that sensory differences, autism and other individual needs can make wearing uniform difficult for some pupils. We therefore take a flexible and understanding approach. While we encourage our school colours where possible, pupils can wear alternative clothing that helps them feel comfortable and ready to learn. Difficulties wearing uniform will never be a barrier to attending school or accessing education at Longcause.

Our Family Team is available to discuss individual needs and offer sensitive support with uniform costs. We keep a small supply of donated uniform, subject to availability, and can help families explore other sources of support.

Our priority is that every pupil feels welcome, comfortable and able to participate in school life.
