Longcause Community Special School

Learning for Life

Assistant Headteacher and Lead of Positive Relationships - Natalie Fallaize

I became very interested in working with pupils with SEN before my PGCE and started to volunteer in some different special schools across Plymouth. Therefore, after graduating from my Primary PGCE at the University of Plymouth, I started my position at Longcause in January 2012 as an NQT. I began teaching Year 11 pupils but have since taught a range of pupils and currently have a mixed age class in Phase 3.

My role has changed regularly since the time I have started. In 2014, I became the Maths subject leader which I have continued to lead ever since. In 2017, I also enhanced my role further and became the Head of Middle School/ Phase 3, joining the Extended Leadership Team (ELT). More recently, I became the Lead for Positive Relationships as well as Assistant Head and a member of SLT. I am passionate about behaviour and building positive relationships. At Longcause, relationships are everything. Building safe and trusting relationships with pupils and adults means that we work together as part of a team to provide the best possible learning environment. I really enjoy being part of a place where we always aim to reflect and improve in every aspect of our school life.
